Open Position: Social Media Manager

In this role you will focus on follower engagement, community building and being the social “voice” of the company. Have creative skills? Perfect. Don’t have creative skills, but have skills that will benefit #Rocketbook? Tell us more!

Questions on your mind will revolve around…

  • How do we promote the voice of #Rocketbook and engage users daily?
  • How can we ensure that the user voice feels heard across platforms?
  • What press/influence can be reached that will benefit the #Rocketbook brand?

Your daily roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Daily monitoring and responsiveness across all public facing platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Amazon and crowdfunding campaigns.
  • You will be in charge of timely posting and cultivation of the brand. 
  • Create an influencer community that represents and promotes #Rocketbook.
  • Cross-promotion and relationships that generate traffic will be your new BFF
  • Build and cultivate a referral marketing program that amplifies our word of mouth.
  • Facilitate cause marketing opportunities that are inline with the #Rocketbook brand.

Rocketbook is looking for a visual asset creator to help us make fun and inspiring videos, product photos, lifestyle photos, and animated GIFs for use on our site and social media.

You’ll work with our founders and marketing manager to strategize and execute on ideas to create visual assets that push the brand forward.


  • Ability to shoot product photography, lifestyle photos and video
  • A mix of video editing, photo editing, and graphic design skills
  • Ability to learn and use digital tools to turn ideas into reality
  • A love for creating eye-catching visuals, a creative mindset
  • A “good eye” and appreciation for good design and branding
  • Resourceful - you can figure out how to achieve good lighting with going nuts on equipment; you can find friends to jump into photos instead of hiring expensive models, etc.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and/or similar tools needed to do the job
  • You have good judgement, bring ideas to the table, and are collaborative
  • Understanding of trends in social media, web and mobile technologies
  • A can-do attitude: No task is too small or too daunting
  • Great time management skills, thrives on multitasking (but still has focus for each task), and don't easily get stressed under pressure
  • You express a sense of style and fun in your work

Ideal, but not required:

  • Experience in designing customer experiences
  • Experience with a CMS or eCommerce such as Shopify
  • You live on Instagram
  • You can doodle or draw
  • You’re a good writer for website copy, blogs and/or video scripts
  • You’re not shy about getting in front of the camera and shooting a how-to video

About You

You have sold and understand consumer products, with bonus points for technology or office products experience. You have done so on the big international stage, either the entire planet, or some territory or continent within. You are flexible in your thinking, strategic, build relationships easily, and are driven by the thrill of opening up new business partnerships. You are comfortable with the ambiguity and rapid iteration of start-up companies and have been craving the opportunity to get your hands dirty growing a substantial business from the ground up.

About the Role

This position reports to the GM of Global Distribution and is responsible for maximizing our sales revenue through a network of international partnerships across multiple end-user channels and across all geographies. The role includes driving sales through existing accounts, as well as developing new customers and new geographies. A strong understanding of the way consumer brand distribution channels work around the world is essential, and experience/understanding of b2b channels in various geographies is a plus. The role is best suited for a person with creativity and flexibility in their thinking, able to find a business model that works for all situations, with the drive to build strong, lasting business partnerships that deliver value.


Develop business plan and strategy for the product line across markets and customers.

  • Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate international markets.
  • Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding international sales performance.
  • Balance sales growth and margin management appropriately. Understand costs and business model.
  • Utilize CRM to manage activities and create efficient processes to support the business
  • Build relationships with key customers including regularly scheduled contacts
  • Recommend international sales and marketing programs.
  • Must be aware of international variances in cultural and legal issues pertaining to sales.
  • Strategically manage a sales pipeline to accurately forecast for management future revenue and margin streams.
  • Achieve pre-defined international sales targets.
  • Communicate with Operations on all issues related to international customers, shipments, and payments
  • Coordinate all international sales efforts with retailers, distributors and other partners. Ensure the brand is being properly represented in all markets.
  • Manage communication of product details and changes to distributor network, and provide content and specification information to partners that meets their needs in their markets.
  • Manage and prepare sales support materials including price lists and line sheets


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education / equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in languages additional to English a plus
  • High degree of comfort with technology and working remotely; limited travel required.
